Why Christians Should Oppose the Current Trend Toward a One-World Government
The New World Order (NWO) conspiracy theory proposes that a cabal of society’s elites are working behind the scenes to orchestrate global events to control and enslave the populace. They want to rule the world through an authoritarian one-world government.
During the 20th century, different political representatives talked about the “New World Order,” such as Winston Churchill of England and President Woodrow Wilson of the United States. The League of Nations and the United Nations were formed to create a world order and maintain peace around the world. Famous British writer H.G. Wells described the term new world order as a synonym for a technocratic world state and a planned economy which was gaining popularity in socialist circles.
World Economic Forum
There are already organizations, such as the World Economic Forum run by Klaus Schwab, meeting to design a new world order. The organization meets every year in Davos in Geneva, Switzerland. Over 1,000 private jets landed in Davos for the last meeting. I guess they really don’t care about global warming. The Green New Deal isn’t really about the climate. It is another modality used to control the masses. The elites from around the world meet every year to discuss how to control the world.
The New World Order has a history of anti-Semitic beliefs. There is a belief held by many people that the Jewish people control major financial institutions and major media outlets.
What is the Illuminati?
The history of the Illuminati goes back as far as the 18th century. It aimed to free the world from religious and political authority. The group was dissolved in 1787. Some people believe that the New World Order’s origin is related to the Illuminati.
The Bilderberg Group
H.G. Wells wrote the book The New World Order, predicting a one-world nation or a United States of the World—a world in which all nations come together to solve their international problems in the pursuit of world peace. In 1977, the space vehicles Voyager I and II carried a message into space to enlighten anyone who might find it that the United States of America was a nation in a world moving toward a “single global civilization.” President George Bush, in a speech to Congress, talked about a “new world order.” In 2008, Henry Kissinger used the same phrase.
It is not just politicians, presidents, and statesmen who are in favor of such a world-changing union. Pope Benedict XVI, in a June 2009 letter, called for “a true world political authority.” As positive as these pronouncements seem, economist Larry Bates interprets them differently. He says,
"I have said for many years that the term new world order is merely a code for 'one-world socialism', with an elite ruling class to govern the rest of us under their demonic system."
What does the Bible say about the possibility of a "new world order" at the end of the age and why is It not a positive development and is not from God?
The first “new world order” is described in Genesis 11; the gathering took place in Shinar where the idea for the tower of Babel was birthed. This was after Noah’s flood when the entire human race spoke the same language and lived in what is now modern Iraq. The people decided to build a great tower; instead of depending on God for strength and security, they sought to find it in themselves.
Paul says in Acts 17 that God appointed the boundaries of nations “so that they should seek the Lord.” But instead of seeking the Lord, they decided to reach the heavens with a great tower much as Satan did before being cast out of heaven by God. Satan said:
Isaiah 14:12-14 NLT
How are you fallen from heaven, O shining star, son of the morning! You have been thrown down to the earth, you who destroyed the nations of the world. For you said to yourself, “I will ascend to heaven and set my throne above God’s stars. I will preside on the mountains of the gods far away in the north. I will climb to the highest heavens and be like the Most High.”
In the Old Testament, the people in charge of the first world order set themselves in opposition to God as the ruler of humankind. Instead of spreading out and inhabiting and populating the earth as God had commanded, they drew together and became a government of the new post-flood world. God looked at the potential for human rebellion in their actions and decided to put a stop to it. He confused their language, forcing them into decentralized smaller language groups and making them spread out across the world.
Internationalism or a one-world government was not God’s plan in the beginning, nor is it now. God’s plan is nationalism. A family of nations spread across the earth.
Acts 17:26-27 NLT
From one man he created all the nations throughout the whole earth. He decided beforehand when they should rise and fall, and he determined their boundaries. His purpose was for the nations to seek after God and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him—though he is not far from any of us.
Only when Christ returns to rule the earth during the Millennium will there be a God-ordained “new world order.”
Today there is a modern attempt at a new world order. The United Nations is the most well-known attempt at establishing a new world order and the United States is the largest contributor. The 18 acres in New York City, the site of the United Nations, is international territory—a property of the world, not New York City or America.
Despite all its good intentions, it has not accomplished its goal of world peace. In fact, some of its actions seem ludicrous, such as creating a Human Rights Commission in 2006 with nations like Sudan, Zimbabwe, China, Russia, and Saudi Arabia as members—some of the biggest human rights-abusing nations in the world. Palestine has received far more recognition and support than Israel and the Jewish people. The United Nations has been a failed attempt to unite the world under a banner of unity and peace.
There will be a new world order in the future. There is a new world order coming that is good and a godly one. It is the Millennium during which the Messiah will rule over a time of peace, extending even to the animal kingdom.
Isaiah 11:6-9 NLT
On that day the wolf and the lamb will live together; the leopard will lie down with the baby goat. The calf and the yearling will be safe with the lion, and a little child will lead them all. The cow will graze near the bear. The cub and the calf will lie down together. The lion will eat hay like a cow. The baby will play safely near the hole of a cobra. Yes, a little child will put its hand in the nest of deadly snakes without harm. Nothing will hurt or destroy in all my holy mountain, for as the waters fill the sea, so the earth will be filled with people who know the Lord.
This is like living in the Garden of Eden. Complete harmony between man, animals, and God. War and rebellion will end as a result of Satan being bound for a thousand years.
What is Wrong with Pursuing a New World Order Now?
There are four reasons why attempting to set up a new world order is a bad idea.
- It promises peace it cannot produce.
- It presumes a unity that is impossible.
- It paves the way for a one-world ruler.
- It produces the roadmap for a global economy.
First, it promises peace that no one can deliver except for God. Any new order that is not of God will fail. There are still wars being fought right now. Man has been unable to bring about world peace and unity. Peace treaties are written and broken routinely. The Bible says a world dictator is coming in the future who will promise peace and actually deliver it for a very short period. People will be so hungry for peace that they will pledge their allegiance to this new leader. He will be rising on the international stage when Christ returns for his Church at the Rapture. Signs of peace will appear. Peace will unfold during the first half of the seven-year tribulation as the world leader brokers a peace treaty between Israel and the nations aligned against her. He uses his success as leverage to continue forming his new world order. The Antichrist’s peace will last for only three and one-half years. He breaks the peace treaty with Israel himself and turns on the nation.
Second, it presumes a unity that is impossible. The utopian dream of peace and the unity of all the world is not possible as it ignores the sinfulness of man. Jeremiah 17:9 says, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked, who can know it.” Nothing man does can escape the taint of sin, and that includes his efforts to create a one-world government and one-world order. C.S. Lewis said, “No clever arrangement of rotten eggs will make a good omelet.”
Third, it paves the way for a one-world leader. Besides promising peace it can’t deliver and presuming a unity that is impossible, a new world order is also an engraved invitation for a one-world leader to ascend to power. Economic and world chaos is a birthing ground for a ruler who makes promises he can’t keep. The nations of the world are looking for someone who can provide direction and solutions to the problems of economics, war, hunger, climate change, and other crises.
People will be willing to give up a measure of freedom to anyone who can keep the enemy at bay and keep money in their pockets. Daniel 7 and Revelation 13 tell us that such a leader will someday arise on the world stage. He will be attractive, a powerful orator, and a messiah-like figure who will be worshipped by the world. With cultic capability, he will take charge of a desperate world and bring order out of chaos. He will use the world’s economic systems to fund and fuel his selfish ambitions.
As Christians today, we must be very discerning about all that is happening in our nation and our world. It’s easy to be swept up in politics and programs ostensibly designed to be for our nation’s benefit, only to find out that they have led us down a slippery path. As a nation, we are living where God planned for us to live—in a nation called America. There is only one time appointed for a one-world government and that is when Jesus Christ returns to rule for a thousand-year Millennium. Until then, we must be careful about being pulled into international alliances that are not consistent with God’s plan for a nation or state.
A one-world government or one-world order is another name for totalitarianism. Live Not by Lies by Rod Dreher is a book about soft totalitarianism or what I call incognito totalitarianism, as it is disguised or hidden from the population until it is too late. This is not the totalitarianism of Stalin and Hitler, which was thrust onto the population through the brutal killing of millions of people.
The totalitarian system is hidden under the guise of efficiency, peace, and community. The problem today is we are voting for it now because the average person is unaware of what is going on. Their minds have been altered from their addiction to watching flat screens. They are promoting their propaganda and the national news media and Big Tech support it. On the surface, it looks benign and appears to be a good thing.
The radical left is causing chaos and disruption around the world. They are following the playbook from Sal Alinsky such as “Ridicule is man’s most powerful weapon” or “If you push a negative hard enough, it will push through and become a positive.” It is during the chaos that it is possible to change the world.
A major focus of totalitarianism and a new world order is removing God from society, destroying the family unit, getting rid of history, and removing truth and facts from the narrative. Changing humankind’s belief in one’s self and not based on the truth of our origins of male and female is another step in dispersing chaos in society and tearing apart the family.
This Great Reset will change how the world functions. This plan originated from the World Economic Forum after the 2008 economic crisis. The Global Redesign Initiative is transforming global governance. The government would be just one of many stakeholders in the new world order. Global capitalism or stakeholder capitalism will arise so that corporations will no longer focus solely on serving their shareholders but become custodians of society. They will create the values they see for their customers, employees, and communities. They will form multi-stakeholder agreements with other corporations controlling private citizens, partner with the government, and control society around the world.
The old framework of society with stable national borders is being cast away. All this is occurring through people’s addiction to flat screens. The average American spends 10 to 12 hours a day glued to their flat screen. Society is being manipulated through this addiction. Hitler and Stalin used a flat screen (large movie screen) to indoctrinate their people into the beliefs they wanted their people to embrace.
Christianity and the church are under attack by the people in control of the New World Order, the Great Reset, and radical liberal leftists. Christianity is built on the foundation of the human body, male and female with a spirit and soul, the belief in the incarnation of Jesus Christ, and the resurrection as the basis for living life. The New World Order does not want those foundations interfering in their worldview which does not include Christianity.
A New World Order could mean the end of times or the apocalypse. A one-world order lays the groundwork for the Antichrist and eventually the second coming of Christ.
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 NLT
For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the believers who have died will rise from their graves. Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever.
The Antichrist will come to world power and sign a covenant with Israel for seven years. This seven-year period is known as the Tribulation. During the Tribulation, there will be famines, natural disasters, wars, and plagues. Halfway through the seven years, the Antichrist will break the peace treaty with Israel and started a war against Israel. In the second half of the Tribulation, things will get even worse; this is known as the Great Tribulation.
At the end of the seven-year Tribulation time, the Antichrist will launch a final attack on Jerusalem. This battle is known as Armageddon. Jesus will return and defeat the Antichrist and his armies and cast them into the lake of fire. Jesus will bind Satan in the Abyss for one thousand years and rule his earthly kingdom during this time.
After a thousand years, Satan will be released and defeated again. He will be cast into the lake of fire for eternity. Christ will judge all unbelievers and cast them into the lake of fire. Jesus then brings forth a new heaven and earth and a new Jerusalem where all believers will live for eternity.
If you are a believer, then maybe a new world order is good since it may bring Christ back to earth and we will live in heaven forever. But you never want to see the devastation and destruction of the Tribulation. Overall, the New World Order is against God’s laws and the Earth will pay for its defiance.
